Hanyan! First Post
Welcome!

First post on Hanyan~!
Ueeee… I’m in for it now~~ Aaauuuu…
Welcome to Hanyan by Lea~! Grand opening! Wafu~!
I would be Lea, and Hanyan is my blog! The word “Hanyan” derives from everyone’s favorite CLAMP girl, Sakura Kinomoto, who uses the word “Hanya~!” whenever she’s bubbly or happy. The “N” added to the end makes two words smashed together. “Hanya” and “Nyan” combined. “Nyan” fills in for my Macross Frontier love.
Hmmm… how did this start?

I guess it’s because after watching so many shows and wanting to comment on them but having no place to do so, I thought, “Get a blog!” I was debating myself for the past couple of days. I know how hard it is to keep up with blog posts, and I know how much patience it takes to screencap scenes and think of things to say.
But I wanted to start a blog anyway. I see a ton of people all blogging the same thing, and while that is okay to a certain limit, I also feel a few certain shows don’t get enough love. {Blogging wise, that is.}
That’s what I’m here to do. To spread the love~!

Well, I’ll go over the basics. ^_^
I started watching anime back when Mew Mew Power, Tokyo Mew Mew’s English dub, was on 4Kids TV. I was overly obsessed. I’d wake up every morning at 8:00 to watch it with my little sister.
I admit, I loved the transformations and the magical girl aspect to it, but I think what got me was the animation. It was so unlike most American animation. It looked more realistic than any other cartoon I’d ever watched. The bodies looked normal. The faces didn’t looked out of whack. I loved the eyes. The eyes were what caught me. That, and the rainbow of colors used for hair and eye colors.
Mew Mew Power was taken off the air, and that’s when I looked it up on Wikipedia. I found Tokyo Mew Mew instead. From there, I discovered a lot of different shows. The first couple were The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, and of course, Sailor Moon. :’D
I realized though, after hanging onto those couple of shows for a while, that it wasn’t only that. This animation that was just right for me, and the uniqueness of the shows being from Japan… they were all still out there. So I expanded it, and here I am now. Mention any show, and I’ll surely be able to tell you that I’ve heard of or watched it before. Say anything in Japanese and I’ll be able to pick out at least one word. It really hasn’t been too long since I was still watching Mew Mew Power.

If you met me in real life, you’d probably be very confused.
I don’t look like someone who’d be into anime or manga. I look like someone you’d see at the mall with their friends. {Sounds weird how that came out, but my group of friends is exactly like that.}
But I don’t really think like that. I love the artistic style of anime and manga. Though I can say a few titles really, really get on my nerves… I’m pretty much okay with everything. I especially love the really beautiful art in certain mangas. A few I can name are Kobato, Sand Chronicles, and ALL Arina Tanemura work. I do think, though, that the art in Shugo Chara can get very pretty at parts, not just cute. =3
As for shows I will be blogging, I have a schedule page, plus the categories. {All will be posted up soon… if they aren’t already up. ^_^; }
And that’s it~
I really hope this works out. I’ll just have to “Massugu Go~!” =D
